Is it safe for women to travel alone in Arab countries?

I don't know about Africa but I am from the Middle East so here is what I think. First off, it depends where your planning to travel to. Arab Gulf countries, Jordan, and Iran are safe for you to travel alone. You can't just travel to Saudi Arabia as a tourist. You need to be sponsored by friends or family but I don't know any specifics. If you want to travel to Israel, you have to keep in mind that most Middle Eastern countries would not allow an entry with an Israeli stamp in your pport. Isreal is not that safe anyway so I'd keep that one off the schedule.;-p
