Honestly. Do you care what others say/think about you?

I ask this question because my friend cares too much of what others think of her. She says that she doesn't want people to think that she is superficial. I think that people will dislike you no matter what whether you done anything to them or not. It's just part of life and there is nothing you can do to make them like you no matter. So I say just screw'em and be who it is you want to be. I feel that once you stop caring what others say/think about you, you feel more liberating.
