If Hamas gets their weapons from Iran/Russia/Syria...?

Why not fight the source? Why not stop the weapons from coming in? Why exactly is Gaza blockaded in if they get the weapons anyhow? It makes more sense to punish the appropriate place...uming of course, that's where they get it from.
